Bawat BaaS (Ballast as a Service) is a mobile, containerized ballast water treatment service solution that sets a new standard in ballast water management, available for both contingency and scheduled service in ports, recycling yards and terminals.
This versatile port reception facility (PRF) or land-based reception facility (LBRF) offers support for vessels with malfunctioning ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) or scheduled operations in ports, terminals, during dry-docking, either from the quayside, through a barge, or temporarily lifted onto your vessel.

Ship & offshore recycling:

How Bawat BaaS works

Direct connection to the vessel
The Mobile BWMS is connected to the vessel’s ballast water piping from quayside, barge-based operations, or temporarily installed onboard the vessel.

One-Pass treatment technology
Water passes through the Mobile BWMS only once to achieve full compliance with IMO and USCG standards.

Water flow management
Ballast water is pumped through the Mobile BWMS using the ship’s own pumps or an external booster pump.
04.
Option for fresh ballast
Ships can refill with pre-treated water, taken from the port, treated via the Mobile BWMS, and then transferred into the vessel’s ballast tanks.

What is Bawat BaaS?
Bawat BaaS (Ballast-as-a-Service) is a port or yard reception facility operated by Bawat. It enables vessels with inoperable or non-compliant BWMS to treat and discharge ballast water safely and in full regulatory compliance.
How is Bawat BaaS connected to a vessel?
Depending on the operation (ballasting or de-ballasting) and vessel setup, pumps and hoses are configured to match the needs of the job. The ship’s ballast system can be used, or external suction or booster pumps can be arranged.
Can vessels receive treated ballast water through Bawat BaaS?
Yes. Bawat BaaS is available for both ballasting and de-ballasting operations. It can deliver compliant ballast water to the ship or treat existing ballast water from the vessel.
How long does the ballast water treatment process take?
The standard Bawat BaaS setup has a treatment capacity of approximately 200 m³/h.
